Bandura.Film ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services.

1. Who We Are

Bandura.Film is an independent film production studio based in Gent, Belgium. We specialize in cinematic music videos, art projects and narrative films.

2. What Data We Collect

When you use our contact form (Chemistry Check quiz), we may collect the following personal data:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Project type and description
  • Reference links you provide
  • Budget and deadline preferences
  • How you found our website (for example an Instagram ad, Google search or a link) — taken from the page address and the referring site, without cookies

We also collect anonymous usage data through Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. This data does not include personally identifiable information. If you accept analytics cookies, we additionally use Microsoft Clarity (see section 7).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your project inquiry
  • To prepare a creative proposal or production estimate
  • To communicate with you about potential collaboration
  • To improve our website and services

We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data based on:

  • Consent — you provide your data voluntarily through our contact form and explicitly agree to this Privacy Policy before submission
  • Legitimate interest — to respond to your inquiry and discuss potential projects, and to protect the contact form from spam
  • Consent for analytics cookies — Microsoft Clarity runs only after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely and is accessible only to authorized members of our team. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, or as required by law. Project inquiry data is typically retained for up to 12 months after the last communication.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — request limited processing of your data
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time

7. Cookies & Analytics

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner asks for your choice. Only essential technology is active until you decide, and analytics cookies are set only if you click "Accept" or enable them in the settings.

  • Essential — your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage (key "bandura-cookie-consent") for up to 6 months. When you use the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot. These cannot be switched off because the site and form need them.
  • Vercel Analytics — anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
  • Microsoft Clarity (analytics, only with your consent) — shows us anonymised heatmaps, clicks, scrolling and session recordings so we can improve the website. Clarity masks text you type into forms. It sets the cookies _clck (up to 1 year) and _clsk (1 day). Clarity is provided by Microsoft Corporation; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Meta Pixel (marketing, only with your consent) — tells us whether visitors from our Instagram and Facebook ads view the site and send an inquiry, so we can measure and improve those ads. It sets the cookies _fbp (up to 3 months) and, when you arrive from an ad, _fbc. Meta Pixel is provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; see the Meta Privacy Policy.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. When you withdraw consent, Clarity's cookies are deleted and it stops running. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

8. Third-Party Services

We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics. Vercel may process technical data such as IP address and browser information.
  • Resend — delivers the messages you send through our contact form to our inbox.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — protects the contact form from spam and bots.
  • Sanity — content management for the website (no visitor data is stored there).
  • Microsoft Clarity — website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Meta — measuring our Instagram and Facebook ads, only if you accept marketing cookies.

We never sell your data or share your contact form data with anyone for marketing purposes.

9. International Transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Vercel, Resend, Cloudflare, Microsoft and Meta) are based in the United States and may process data there. Such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
